A LOT ! has happened from our last post. Most of it is technical work, but now the wall-e tracks, thanks to our friend Mike Senna in the US, our track drives are complete with the NPC-2212 motors.
Polyurethane Resin in Malta is a NO NO
Ohhhh how many phone calls, how many headaches !!, We can’t find Polyurethane Casting Resin in Malta, and we can’t ship it because it is a hazardous material… ohhhh the headaches, Wall-E was without shoes, perfect feet, but no shoes !. Well, Forestals, one of ou rmain sponsors came to the rescue with recycled car tyre mats which we cut in sizes and although the thread pattern does not match the iconic Wall-E threads since we can’t cast them (although Keith had already 3D Printed a master) we have to do with what we have.
A major part of such a project is to work with what you have and make it work as best as possible.
Testing the Subframe
How do you test if something is sturdy enough ?.. well climb on top of it… if you’re still not sure, make everyone take turns standing on it, IF YOU STILL ARE NOT SURE, MAKE JAMES STAND ON IT !!
